Ginger Lemon Honey Water
While trekking around London last November, my cold got the better of me. My friend Simon and I stopped by the Rose Bakery on the top floor of Dover Street Market. I ordered the ginger tea with lemon and honey (as well as the carrot cake - omm nom nom nom!) The mix must have some black magic because it made me feel energized, alert, and restored. I brew it every time for myself or a friend whenever they feel under the weather. Here’s the recipe, so you can make some too:
1.  Cut a 3cmx5cm piece of ginger into thin slices (about 0.5 cm wide). It should give you a roundish shape. If you’re a real man, add more ginger to your tea to make it extra spicy.
2.  Add to a pot with 2 cups of water.  Bring your pot up to a boil, then simmer.
3.  Meanwhile, extract the pulp wedges from half a lemon by cutting into the lemon half in a circle with a paring knife, then cutting along the membrane in each section, the way you would with a grapefruit.  De-pip your pulp and place it into your teapot, thermos, or extra large mug.  Squeeze in the remaining juice from the lemon half.
4.  Add a generous tablespoon of your favorite honey to the lemon, preferably local honey.
5.  Strain the ginger tea into your lemon pulp honey mixture.
6. For extra vitamins, add Whiskey.
Serve to loved ones for a delicious cure-all that will soothe tickly throats and crush threatening colds.
